Fooho is a Social Food Sharing network encouraging people to meet, share ingredients, cook together and use food sustainably. After creating an account users can join a food sharing group in their immediate environment (e.g. their student dorm or their apartment block). Inside this group users can then create new cooking events or join existing cooking events. The idea behind a cooking event is that multiple users meet to cook and eat together and each user brings along some ingredients. Another feature is grocery offering. Users can give away groceries that they can't use up themselves e.g. because they go on a holiday and the groceries would expire in the meantime. The users get points for taking part in cooking events or for giving away groceries. When users reach a specific number of points they get an offer to become super users. Super users are kind of administrators in their group. That means they can remove toxic users or unclear events from the group. And they can also establish special public facilities in their community in real life. For example a compost pile or a public food sharing point. Fooho offers the users benefits in three different fields: Social: Users can get in touch with new people in their environment by creating a new cooking event or joining a cooking event that was created by another user. Economic: Users have to buy less groceries themselves because they share their groceries in their community. Thus they can save money. Ecological: Users can use up their groceries together in their community and they can give away groceries they can't use up themselves. This helps reducing food waste.
